Stefan supports SET’s IAB with his extensive knowledge of the European and especially German energy markets. Since 2015 he has been active as non-executive director for several utilities and start-ups in the energy-industry. As a consultant he supports “newcomers” into the European and German energy markets, i. e. international investors, investors from other industries or start-ups. From time to time he works as an interim-manager for utilities. Before becoming independent he acted as MD and CEO of several German local utilities (Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH, Stadwerke Kiel AG and GASAG AG, the Berlin based gas utility). He started his career in the utility industry end of the 90ies as MD of an energy trading company after the deregulation of the European Power- and Gas-Markets.

His start into business was as a controlling-Trainee at VEBA OEL AG in the early 90ies. After his Trainee-Program he headed the Sales department of Olefins of this company.

Stefan holds a Master-Degree in Business Administration (“Diplom-Kaufmann”) of the university of Münster, Germany.
