Pieter ter Kuile
As member of the IAB for SET Ventures Pieter brings specific expertise from the investment banking industry with his extensive international experience. Pieter started his career as a strategy Consultant with McKinsey in 1987. After that he set up his own business in financial fraud investigation and co-founded the Oberman Group in 1991, teaching clear and logical writing and thinking. In 1993 he joined Kempen & Co, advising companies on M&A and equity raisings, including IPO’s. He specialised in energy and life science. He has advised a broad range of companies extending from large European energy companies to international start-ups. In 2004 Pieter initiated and executed the buyout of Kempen & CO from Dexia Bank. He was with Kempen & Co until July 2014, most recently as Vice Chairman Corporate Finance. Currently Pieter advises a range of start-ups and serves on the supervisory board of several small companies. Pieter obtained an MA in law at the University of Amsterdam and graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also an International Resource Trainer and a Mentor for the DHI-BEGIN Program in Bhutan. Pieter is a director of BlackBearCarbon, member of the Supervisory Board of KIKA and PharmaCell.
