Wildpoldsried, 21 November 2017 – The sonnen group, the world’s leading manufacturer of energy storage systems and operator of the largest power sharing platform, is opening sonnenFlat up to all sonnenBatterie model generations. As announced, this will expand sonnenFlat participation to include existing sonnenBatterie owners.

sonnenFlat is an electricity service within the sonnenCommunity that members can use to receive free power by taking part in sonnen’s battery pool. The pool is made up of thousands of digitally networked sonnenBatteries which are made available for various network services.
The networked storage batteries can absorb excess energy when there is surplus power in the grid, using this balance to stabilise
the German power grids and limiting the need for grid expansion and the associated costs for society.

‘sonnenFlat is of great financial interest to all new sonnenBatterie customers, as it means the investment in their own energy supply pays off even faster,’ says Philipp Schröder, Sales and Marketing Director at sonnen. ‘This Christmas, we would like to specially thank our long-term customers and offer them access to sonnenFlat, and thus free electricity, until 31 December.’

The sonnenFlat framework and the amount of available free electricity remains the same as before. According to the size of the photovoltaic system and the sonnenBatterie’s storage capacity, packages are available with 4,250 – 8,000 kWh of free electricity per year, so every household can individually select the appropriate sonnenFlat package for them.

The offer of sonnenFlat for all sonnenBatterie models (eco, comfort and classic)

is valid until 31 December 2017. All new and existing sonnenCommunity members can participate in sonnenFlat.
